The coolest things so far...

I think one of the coolest thing I’ve done so far at SHM is the PowerPoint presentation for HM13. I love getting to work with graphics and being able to use some creativity. I also love that it is a big project and I’m working on it by myself. I think it’s pretty cool that I get to have that responsibility.

I think the coolest thing I’ve done outside of work is what I have been doing for Greek Week. I have been working really hard on Talent Show with my sisters. Even though it’s not for a few more days the fact that I will be dancing in front of all of Greek life is pretty cool and so much fun!

Coolest Thing

The coolest thing I’ve done in the last 30 days has to be when Brett gave me a tour of the Server Room. It was really cool and exciting to see the infrastructure of a network because that’s what I want to do after graduation. The coolest thing outside of work has to be when I met up with friends for Sakura Sunday (Cherry Blossom Festival). I rarely have the chance to see them after high school and  few of them moved to different states, but we all gather once a year for this festival.

The coolest thing...

The coolest thing that I've done at work in the last 30 days would probably be aiding in the creation of a powerpoint for the regional chapter leaders to present on Choosing Wisely. It's so cool to know that the presentation I made will be shown to hospitalists around the United States! As for the coolest thing I've done outside of work in the last 30 days....that's a tough one. It would probably have to be visiting home for Spring Break. My parents live in Orange County, California so I got to go to the beach everyday and just relax (and be out of the freezing cold Philly weather!).

Defining "Cool"

What was the coolest thing you've done (at work) in the last 30 days?  What was the coolest thing you've done (outside of work) in the last 30 days?

About Me

Hi! I'm Imani and I am a Pre Junior at Drexel majoring in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations. I spend a lot of time in traffic because I commute from Delaware. I95 is my second home. When I finally do make it off the highway I like to spend my free time watching TV. Some of my favorite shows are Mad Men, Hart of Dixie, Game of Thrones and Real Housewives of Atlanta. Recently I have begun a new obsession with the show Extreme Couponing on TLC.

As far as big project or small projects I would definitely say big projects. I like to take big project and break them down into to small tasks. It feels very rewarding to conquer a big project and sometime small tasks can feel like busy work

About me

Hello!

My name is Meng Zheng and I am a Junior studying Information Technology at Drexel University. This is my second and last co-op because I am a transfer student from Community College of Philadelphia. I am very excited about working at SHM because not only I think it will be a great co-op experience for me, it will ultimately help me determine what career I want in life. If I am not in class or hanging out with friends in the iCommons, I am usually home playing video games or watching anime (Japanese cartoon).  Currently I am playing a MMORPG called Dungeons and Dragons Online along with few PS games for when that gets boring.

As for the second question, I, like Anna, like both small and big projects. Small projects are quick and simple and can be easily done between downtimes of big projects, and I feel like big projects often have a lot of downtime.

A little bit about me...

I guess I'm next. My name is Anna DeMarco and I am a 3rd year Business Administration student with a Marketing concentration at Drexel. I'm so excited to be working at SHM as the Marketing assistant and I think this is going to be a really great experience for me. If I'm not at coop or running around campus for class then I'm probably running around doing something for my sorority, Delta Phi Epsilon. In the event that I'm actually home with some free time then I'm probably on Tumblr or watching something on Netflix (I'm currently rewatching all of Grey's Anatomy). I also make jewelry and am contemplating selling it on etsy or something. But if I had a whole day free to do whatever I wanted I would probably go surfing, since I'm always happiest when I'm at the beach/in the ocean.

To answer the second question, I like a little of both. Small projects are great because they can be completed quickly and don't give you any time to bet bored. I would like to help with some bigger projects while I'm at SHM. I like having that responsibility and feeling like I'm doing something really important. It would be really challenging but I think ultimately it would help me grow and develop my business skills.

First Post!

Hi all!
To start off I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Morgan Garcia and I am a 3rd year biology major at Drexel. I'm really excited to be completing my coop here at SHM in the role of The Center Assistant. As a college student, most of my time is spent running from class to class and all over campus. But, in the event that I have some personal time, there's a few things I like to do. On a perfect day, I would go shopping in Center City, have lunch at a fun restaurant like Amada (Spanish food is da bomb), and then grab froyo with some friends. Kiwi is probably my all time favorite froyo place because they have so many options. I am a big fan of their red velvet cake froyo and I love all the fruit toppings....it's like froyo heaven! On a lazy day, I'm not opposed to laying on the couch and watching entire seasons of my favorite shows on Netflix: Grey's Anatomy, 90210, etc. But if I had the choice of doing anything I wanted to for a day, I would simply lay on the beach with a great book and a smoothie and be the happiest girl around. To address the second question, I prefer to have several small projects so that it breaks up my day and I never get bored with what I'm doing. Already I've had several small projects assigned to me and I'm excited to work on them and be a part of everything going on here at SHM!

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to SHM and the new and improved blog! For your first post I have two questions:

1.       How do you like to spend your personal time?

2.       Do you prefer being given a few, large projects, or several small ones?
